Redefining Success: My Solopreneur Journey as a Mother and Woman

When I first stepped into the world of solopreneurship, I did what many of us do - I turned to the 'experts' for guidance. I devoured courses, attended webinars, and followed all the big names in the industry. But as I immersed myself in this world, something felt... off.

These gurus, with their flashy lifestyles and promises of six-figure months, had lives I didn't admire or want to emulate. I didn't quit my corporate job to create a new life of burnout and stress. I wanted freedom, flexibility, and most importantly, time for myself and my family.

As a mother, I quickly realized that many of these strategies weren't designed for someone juggling family responsibilities. The constant hustle, the 24/7 availability, the pressure to always be 'on' - it all felt eerily familiar to the corporate world I'd left behind.

But here's the thing: We can sense authenticity. Our intuition picks up on someone's energy, their nervous system. And many of these 'gurus' were radiating stress and imbalance. Their perfectly curated Instagram feeds couldn't hide the underlying tension in their voices, the tired look in their eyes.

I wanted to learn from women who were truly thriving - not just in business, but in life. Women who were making an impact while maintaining a sustainable, joyful existence. Women who understood that success isn't just about work, but about creating a life you love.

So, I embarked on a new journey - one of finding and learning from entrepreneurs who are succeeding on their own terms. People who understand that true success is a holistic concept, encompassing personal fulfillment, family time, and yes, financial success too.

Here's what I've learned so far:

1. Define success for yourself: Don't let others dictate what success should look like for you. For me, it's about creating a thriving business while having plenty of time for my family and self-care, even if it means going slower at it.

2. Trust your intuition: If something feels off about a business strategy or a guru's advice, listen to that feeling. Your gut instinct is often right.

3. Seek authentic role models: Look for mentors and inspirations who embody the kind of life you want to live, not just the business success you want to achieve.

4. Prioritize balance: Building a successful business doesn't have to come at the cost of your personal life or health. In fact, maintaining balance often leads to greater long-term success.

5. Be real: Authenticity resonates with people. Don't be afraid to show the real you - challenges, imperfections, and all.

6. We need less than we think... Maybe a feminine approach to success is to stop when we reach enough impact and financial security to have a "good" enough life. There's nothing wrong with not striving to become #1 in the Forbes list of multimillionaires.

As I continue on this path, I'm constantly inspired by women who are redefining what it means to be a successful entrepreneur. Women who are building their version of empires while being present for their families. Women who are changing the world without sacrificing their well-being.

I'm on a mission to find more of these inspiring individuals and learn from their journeys. If you know of any entrepreneurs who embody this balance of success and well-being, I'd love to hear about them.

Let's redefine success together - not just in numbers, but in the quality of our lives and the positive impact we make. Because at the end of the day, isn't that what truly matters?

I'd love to hear your thoughts. How do you define success in your entrepreneurial journey? What challenges have you faced in maintaining balance? Let's start a conversation and support each other in creating businesses - and lives - that truly fulfill us.
